Mother Gave Birth To Baby Two Weeks Early So Her Husband With Cancer Could See Her Before He Went

As a parent, nothing is happier than seeing the birth of a baby. It’s probably the most touching and memorable moment in their life. But it will be a much more heart-wrenching experience if it’s the first and also the last met. A new life comes and an older one goes. We all know that it’s the circle of life but it still hurts. However, the gone one will be always missed as they stay in the deepest place in their family’s heart.

This is the case of a couple from the Colony, Texas. Diane Aulger’s husband, Mark, was in his last days struggling with cancer. Diane purposefully delivered two weeks early so that her husband could meet their baby. Mark had his last wish: meet his child once before he passed away. This breaks my heart. No parents don’t wait for their babies to come to this world.

Diane asked for the doctor’s advice on her decision. She was scheduled to be induced on January 18. Thankfully, the baby and the mother were healthy after the delivery. When Savannah (name of the baby girl) was brought to her dad, Mark, he shed tears of happiness. He could notice her and hold her for 45 minutes.

Mark’s condition got worse the following couple of days. He was so tired that he was only able to hold her for a minute or so at a time. He fell into a coma on January 21 and passed away two days later.

Although Diane had prepared for her husband’s departure, she missed him a lot. But she needed to be strong as she is now a single mother of five.

Mark was diagnosed with colon cancer last April. He underwent 6 months of precautionary chemotherapy to remove cancer. But this badly damaged his lungs. He began having trouble breathing last November and was admitted to the hospital in January. The man suffered from pulmonary fibrosis as a result of the chemotherapy treatment.

At that time, the couple was optimistic that he would recover. However, doctors said that Mark’s condition would not improve when was getting ready to give birth to their fifth child. As she learned that Mark had mere five or six days to live, she decided to go into labor 2 weeks early.

Since Mark passed, the Aulger has received a lot of mental and physical support from their neighbors, community, and even strangers. They sent Diane food, clothing, diapers, and cash to support her life.

Their four older children, aged fifteen, thirteen, ten, and seven are constantly talking about their funny dad. Mark will be always loved.
