It was a cold and windy day in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Kristina Hollie and her colleague were waiting for the bus when they saw an adorable dog running errands with his mother. The woman and her beloved dog were ready to go into the post office when she was told that she was not allowed to bring her dog inside.
She really wanted to let him inside but she had no other choice. For this reason, she had to tie him to a tree just outside the post office and came inside without him. And that predicament led to a warm love performance that warmed the hearts of everyone watching.
After tying the puppy to the tree, she took off her own jacket and began wrapping the jacket around her shivering furry friend. The loving fluffy mother knew that her puppy may get cold while waiting for her to finish up inside the post office. The adorable puppy sat proudly in his spot as his mom put her jacket around him. He was delighted to wear his mother’s warm and cozy coat.
They shared a sweet head bump, and his mother began to walk into the post office. “As soon as she got up and walked past me, I told her that what she did was incredibly sweet and thoughtful,” Hollie said. “She just replied, ‘Thank you! I don’t want him to be cold!’”
“It was very cold and windy. I noticed that he was visibly shaking. She obviously noticed too because she immediately took off her jacket and covered the dog as he sat. Maybe she thought he would kick it off, so she bent down and zipped it up around him,” Kristina Hollie told The Dodo.
Sitting on the sidewalk in his adorable coat, the cozy puppy received a lot of attention. People couldn’t resist stopping to take pictures and comment on his comfortable jacket. Some even gave him loving pats on the head. So sweet!
“I saw two or three others passing by him and commented that he looked very cute and very warm,” Hollie said.
Soon Hollie’s bus arrived at the stop and it was time to say goodbye to the dog. As she boarded, she looked back at the pup, proudly sitting on the sidewalk in his outfit, waiting for his mother, who loves him and will do anything to keep him warm and happy.
We have no doubt that the woman will bring her beloved companion inside if she can, but we are so touched by the loving act she took to ensure his warmth. She wanted to make sure her dog was as comfortable as possible until she came back, even if she was only been a few minutes away.
