If you raise your children and pets together, you will realize that they can form a special bond and become best friends.
Having a childhood pet is a wonderful experience for the child. It can help children develop kindness, understanding and respect for living things. Besides, children can learn to take responsibility for another living thing and assistance.
In order to prove that pets and children can bond with each other, we would like to tell you a story of the heartwarming friendship between the 6-year-old foster child named Buddy and his best friend Reagan the adorable labradoodle.
Their friendship is so strong and wonderful that it has been immortalized in a charitable book. Buddy’s foster grandmother, Sandi Swiridoff, has released this book to support Foster Parents Night Out, an organisation works with foster families.
“The little boy was my inspiration for donating profits from the @Reagandoodle calendar to help foster children,” Sandi said.
“It [the book] includes never before seen photos, showcasing their relationship from the time they first met, up until now, almost two years later. Their story is one of a strong bond and a sweet friendship, and includes a few surprises,” Sandi revealed.
“The touching, true story of Reagan and Little Buddy needed to be told. I couldn’t keep all the adorableness to myself,” Sandi told Daily Mail.
She added she was so excited for this book to come out.
Sandi and Eric Swiridoff adopted Reagan when she was an 8-week pup as a way to help their daughter cop with the pain after having to give up her first two foster children.
Buddy was adopted when he was 11 months old, and now he has been with their daughter and Reagan the dog for nearly five years.
“Reagan is great with kids and other dogs, he hasn’t met another dog or person that he doesn’t like… Adopting Reagan was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. He has added so much joy to our lives, and to the lives of many other people.”
From taking a bath or enjoying a coffee by the water to napping or playing on swings, Buddy and Reagan do everything together.
They now have over 500,000 fans on Instagram keeping up with their adorable photos and videos.
