A Hoarding Rescue Found Rare Havana Brown Cats Mistreated In Years

A group of felines was rescued and taken to Five Acres Animal Shelter in Missouri a year ago. Surprisingly, most of them appeared to be a rare breed called the Havana Brown.

Estimations say there are only about 1,000 individuals of this breed remaining on earth. This breed is a hybrid with Siamese while bearing a coat color resembles of Cuban cigars. Like any cats, these ones deserve a playful and full-of-love life, but they never experienced any of that but got constrained in small and filthy cages.

Many of the cats found suffering PSTD. They kept a caged pace with foam on their mouth and were under extreme fear.

When the cats arrived at Five Acres, their overall health was neglected. People got them under special treatment for the body and rotted teeth.

However, the hard part was yet to come. It was their damaged soul that needed to be healed too. It took endless works to help with their mental adjustment. Fortunately, the result came fruitful. Many of the cats were ready for adoption by early December. As these felines require lots of attention and love, the staff at Five Acres wanted to make sure the families they are going to will fit their love-demanding character.

Among these 90 rescued cats, there is Acorn, the one notable example of this devastating reality. He could barely walk and stand straight due to dislocated kneecaps resulted from the crouched down life.

Acorn later received a risky surgery operated by Dr. Arndt and went off it bravely. In the fall of 2018, Acorn made a big leap in recovering. He is the first cat ever tried the underwater treadmill during his life in the foster home.

And there are more signs of Acorn is regaining his cat instinct and adorable nature. We can now expect a bright future for him coming very soon.
