Humans are always curious about their future, because they know nothing about it. Questions like “Will I be rich?”, “Will I meet my true love tomorrow?”, or “When will my life come to the end?”, none of them can be exactly answered. That’s why we need a prophet to foretell what will come to us in the future. Believing or not, Oscar is a cat who has this kind of special ability.

Oscar lives in a hospital located in Providence, USA. No one in the hospital knows exactly where he comes from, but they know he had been staying there since his early age. He looks just like an ordinary cat. He loves to eat and sleeps very well. However, unlike other fellows, Oscar doesn’t want to be petted. Although all doctors and patients love him, he prefers to be alone. He is such an independent cat.

The hospital regulations said that animals were not allowed in the halls or at the wards of the hospital. But one day, Oscar was seen standing at the door of the ward, scratching it and mewing plaintively. The doctor who noticed him felt strange at first, but decided to find out why the cat insisted on getting into that particular room. The doctor opened the door so that Oscar could come in. He stopped in the middle of the room for several seconds, then all of a sudden, he jumped onto the bed of one of the patients. The cat decided to sleep next to him that night.

His behavior was really strange. The doctor didn’t know why a loner Oscar chose to come to that stranger. But he got the answer after a few hours. That night, one patient in the room passed away. And more surprisingly, he was the person Oscar slept with. The doctor wondered if Oscar had informed him about the death of the patient. After that night, Oscar did the same with some other people who would pass away a few hours later. They realized the cat wasn’t ordinary anymore, he could predict the end of lives.

Not only having that unusual ability, but he could also do it with high accuracy. One day, the doctors brought Oscar to a patient they thought was going to pass away. But the cat stayed on his bed for no more than 2 seconds, then jumped into another bed next to him. The first patient lived longer for some weeks, while the second person passed away after three hours. Therefore, whenever Oscar chose to sleep on one’s bed, doctors would inform the relatives of that one, so that they could say goodbye.

However, doctors soon became afraid that Oscar’s special sense was considered something bad, and people would no longer choose their hospital. But it turned out to be the opposite. The relatives were so grateful that they could say goodbye to their beloved ones. Meanwhile, the patient whose life was foretold to nearly reach the end could remember and call back all of the events in his life.

It was estimated that Oscar had helped more than 500 people in their last hours. But finally, they decided to get him out of the room, which surprised everyone. Showing his disagreement, Oscar started running back and forth at the ward door and meowing loudly. Scientists explained Oscar’s situation that it was a common feline sensitivity when the cat can carry one particular reaction. But why that only happened to Oscar but not other cats, still remained a big question.

Oscar’s ability was known to the media. He appeared in a famous TV show that complimented his exact predictions and his support with many patients and their relatives. Above all, Oscar is just one example of cats with paranormal abilities about which modern science can not fully understand.
