Shelter Cats And Dogs Attend A Field Trip To Local Zoo To See Exotic Animals

Not only kids get excited at field trips to the zoo but pets also love them. It’s a great time to explore the world of animals and encounter them at a near distance. They may see all these animals on TV or in books. But seeing them in real life is a different thing. It is a worthy experience!

And recently, cats and dogs at the Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL) were taken on a field trip to the San Antonio Zoo. The trip helped these adorable shelter animals deal with boredom during quarantine.

It was an amazing journey as these pets could see many exotic animals living in the zoo. Lions, leopards, monkeys, giraffes, and other interesting creatures that they had never seen before.

Like the kids, these pets were curious about the zoo and exotic friends. Who were these creatures? Why did they look different from them? Could they befriend those? A lot of questions came to the mind of these adorable animals.

Just look! This little cat kept staring at the majestic leopard!

I think that it was also an awesome experience for animals at the zoo. They finally had the chance to meet up with other residents.

More importantly, the field trip helps to raise awareness of locals of what ADL and San Antonio Zoo have done so far. They hope that more and more people understand and support their work, physically and mentally.

ADL is the oldest, true no-kill shelter in the state of Texas. Both the shelter and the zoo have faced many overwhelming challenges by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“ADL and our neighbors at the San Antonio Zoo felt a shared impact from the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in a devastating decrease in essential revenues and fundraising support,” said Michelle, Development and Marketing Manager for the Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL).

During this difficult time, your support, big or small means a lot to two organizations and residents here.
