This is the story of a dog named Anandaveli who lives in Malaysian. She saved her whole family from danger by waking up them and alerting them about the fire that was about to break out. The incident happened at dawn, around 5AM. The family was sleeping, when the fire began to break loose. Realizing that something dangerous was about to happen, Anandaveli decided to alert the family.

The dog tried to wake up her mom Vimala by nibbling her face and tugging her pyjamas. At first, she didn’t react as she didn’t know what was happening. She thought that the dog was thirsty and asked for some. But when she got up, she saw that the family altar was on fire. Seeing this, she woke everyone up. Thankfully, they all made their escape and were relatively unscathed.

“I told her to get water at the kitchen herself but when she continued to pull on my clothes, I got up to see the middle section of my house, which housed the praying altar, was on fire. My youngest son, Vimalan, 18, had to help my husband N. Marimuthu, 58, from the fire because he has difficulty walking due to a stroke,” Vimala said.

The whole house burned down, but everyone was safe and sound. Needless to say, the whole family was thankful that Anandaveli saved their lives. The dog got a few minor burns but got proper care immediately. According to Vimala, Anandaveli almost didn’t survive her infancy. Thankfully, her family tried their best to nurse her back to health.

Terence Naidu, a local politician, provided the family with financial aid and provisions. He helped them to fill the form for temporary housing since their single-storey house had been destroyed in the incident. He also sang praises of Anandaveli’s action.
