An Unmistakable Bird With Huge Yellow And Orange Beak And Small Fleshy Spikes Above Eyes

There are many many unmistakable birds in nature. They were born with distinctive features that make them conspicuous wherever they turn up. Some people even think that such striking birds only jump out from fairy books. But they do exist in nature. If you have an opportunity to see these outstanding flying gems, make sure that you grasp it.

The horned puffin is among these extraordinary birds. It is famous for its huge yellow and orange beak that can carry dozens of fish a time to their young.

Just look! The eyes of this black and white seabird are impressive. It has small fleshy spikes above the eyes, making it stand out from the crowd.

For these features, this puffin is dubbed “clown” bird. Do you agree?

Having the largest bill of all the puffin species helps these seabirds a lot in catching fish. They can dive over 100 feet to chase small fish and bring a mouthful to feed the hatchlings.

Additionally, male horned puffins use their stunning bills to attract females during the breeding season. This bill gets bigger and the yellow brightens up with a dark orange tip.

After finding mates, female birds build their nests on cliffs while females of other puffin species dig earthen burrows for their nests.

When winter comes, these seabirds fly off the shore in the Pacific ocean.

If you love this unique bird, just share this article with your family and friends. They will certainly burst out “wow”. Believe us!
