Cheerful Baby Elephants Play In Mud, Covering Themselves In Red Dust

Baby elephants are playful and energetic kids. They love to discover the surroundings and get tons of fun with this. Just look at the way these stubby creatures play in water and mud!

They know that they will get wet and dirty all over their bodies but can’t stop giving it a try. Not just that, they don’t hide happiness and excitement on their faces. Cuteness overload!

Today’s article is also about these adorable animals. They dye themselves red after playing in dirty mud. But these calves don’t care about how they look. They are having a joyful time and this is what makes sense to them.

These baby elephants are orphans. They were part of a herd of orphans living at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Ithumba. Their daily routines include visits to deep mud baths.

At the wildlife park, they can roll over the mud, chasing after their friends, and have the best time ever in a day.

These calves look so funny with dust and red mud covering all their massive bodies. We, humans, can’t get enough of their cuteness and happy vibes.

‘It was pretty funny to see them covered in red dust, some of them very funny – almost like clowns putting makeup,” Said environmental consultants Mick Baines.

Do you know that mud and dust on the body are helpful for elephants? They form a thick layer that protects their skin from the sun and insects.

Mr. Baines said that the number of orphaned elephants in Ithumba has increased due to the loss of habitat and poaching.

The orphaned elephants will be taken care of at the park until they are strong enough to get back into the wild.
