Meet Joy, a newborn puppy who was abandoned on the sidewalk. Due to lacking the mother’s care, he was tiny and weak. He couldn’t take care of himself and seemed to leave his life to fate. But thankfully, volunteers at Howl Of A Dog, a nonprofit animal rescue organization in Romania, found him and took him to their shelter.
Joy just weighted 160 grams, so staff considered the day he arrived at the shelter as being the first day of his life. It is not easy to raise orphaned newborn puppies as they are very fragile, blind, deaf, toothless and unable to maintain their body temperature. Despite having many difficulties, the staff still tried their best to nurse him and help him grow up.
In the first week, he spent most of their time sleeping and eating with the help of staff. After three weeks, he opened his eyes. He started exploring everything around him and making friends with other furry creatures. When he was seven weeks old, he was strong enough to eat by himself. Once he was ready for adoption, everyone helped him find a new home.
After 4 months, staff at Howl Of A Dog received the good news. A great family from the Netherlands fell in love with Joy and decided to adopt him. His new parents Ellen and Ricardo were so eager to meet him, so they drove across Europe to personally bring him home. We are happy to know that Joy is now living happily with his loving family in his forever home.

Thank you so much for rescuing him and giving him the chance of a happy life. What a transformation from the first week to how Joy looks now, with that beautiful fur, the colors, and those eyes in an intelligent head. We hope that his whole life will be full of joy and love.
Howl Of A Dog’s commitment is to rescue abandoned, neglected and abused dogs from the streets or from local kill-shelters and to find them suitable loving forever homes. For more details please visit their website or Facebook page.
