You dressed up for the the date but get stood up at the last minutes? You may get disappointed or angry then but may forgive your friends. But how will it go if there is for a big occasion that can change a person’s life like adoption? You must be left devastated. This is what happed with this adorable 3-month-old pupper named Vicente. He wore an adorable little tuxedo and was full of excitement because his new owners were supposed to pick him up for adoption. Sadly, they all denied coming to see Vicente. This really hurted the little boy.
Diana, a volunteer at Rescátamen told Bored Panda: “We rescued Vicente, his siblings, and his mom in Zipaquirá, a town near Bogotá. He’s 3 months old. We have an adoption process with a form and the guy who wanted to adopt him applied and passed all of our requirements. He even went to our shelter and picked Vicente out of his brothers and sisters. He supposedly would pick up Vicente for adoption on the 9th to take him home. So we did what we usually do for adoptions—we gave him a bath and prepared him for his adoption day (with the tiny smoking jacket as they need to be perfect for their special day), but the guy never arrived. He stood him up and then called to cancel the adoption”.
This is Vicente. He got all dressed up in his tuxedo to greet his new owners coming to pick him up from the shelter
Vicente lived in a shelter called Rescátame Foundation. Its aim is to find abandoned animals and help them find new homes. As Vicente’s new owners never showed up, the shelter shared his story on their social media and it went viral. People sent love and care for the pup and many of them wanted to bring him home.

Sadly, his new owners didn’t come and the pup continued waiting in the shelter for adoption
However, the shelter wanted the pup would actually be adopted this time: “Vicente’s alleged adopter never came for him. When he was ready for a home, bañadito, he canceled his adoption. Then we are asked why we are so rigid with the process, for that reason! Because we don’t want to have the slightest doubt that our furry ones will be in excellent hands for the rest of their lives. If you want to adopt, remember that it is a commitment forever—animals are not things you can have when you feel like having a dog.”
After the shelter shared his story on Facebook, it went viral and many people wanted to adopt Vicente
Thanks to all the love and kindness the pup received, Vicente finally found his home
After a lot of searching, the pup finally found a lovely family that actually wanted him. The shelter later released an official statement saying that the pup is now adopted: “Thanks to all interested people—we never thought that your story would get that far. We want to tell you that Vicente has already been adopted by a beautiful family. We still have over 40 furry friends at the foundation waiting for a home. You can write to us via our intern, who will share their adoption forms with requirements.”
