Deaf Dog Can’t Contain His Excitement When His Soldier Dad Comes Home From Mission

Dogs are loyal and smart creatures, so they are called man’s best friends. They are probably the only living creatures who never fail to recognize their owners even after some time of being away from each other. They love their humans more than they love themselves, and this has been proven to be true numerous times. And the video of a dog named Cotton below is one of these proofs that we would like to share with you.

Cotton is a sweet and affectionate Pit Bull who was rescued in 2009 by his dad, Phil. The man came home from serving in Afghanistan and wanted to have a dog companion, so he decided to give the pit bull a second chance at a new life. Although Cotton is deaf, he never lets it stop him from becoming a good service dog. He loves Phil so much and tries his best to make his owner’s life happier.

Phil now serves in the Oregon National Guard, so he is often away from home because of work. When he was gone all weekend long during a drill, Cotton missed him so much and waited by the door for him to come home. Therefore, when Phil came home after the mission, the pit bull couldn’t contain his excitement. Despite being deaf, Cotton knows his dad is about to come in, and he has the sweetest reaction after seeing him.

When the two friends are reunited, it’s too sweet. One weekend might seem long for him, and he is clearly so excited to see his dad again. Thankfully, the priceless moment was captured on camera and shared on social media. Needless to say, the video went viral and melted the hearts of millions. You can watch the heartwarming video of Cotton below. Cute beyond words!

Unfortunately, Phil posted an update later on that Cotton got seriously ill and had a slim chance of survival. The family had no choice but to put him down. Rest in peace, sweet boy, you are the best dog. We hope that your new life in the heaven would be full of joy and love.
