Dogs are called “man’s best friend” for a reason. These faithful critters adore us unconditionally whether we are rich or poor, healthy or sick, black or white. As long as we treat them nicely, nothing could ruin their love.
The affectionate doggo in this story, Ddol, once lived a happy life with an elderly couple who collected scraps for a living. Even though they weren’t well-off at all, they still loved him with all they had. Their happy days lasted for 7 years until the wife suddenly passed away, leaving her husband and Ddol behind to mourn together.
Not long afterward, a huge fire cruelly destroyed their house and the luckless man was rushed to a local hospital while suffering second-degree burns all over his body. Ddol was left there all alone, but he refused to leave.
The injured dog wandered around his neighborhood every day, desperately searching for his owner. When the night fell, he came back to the ruins, crying all night long. The scared and downhearted boy did not let anyone approach him, he was looking for his owner, and his owner only.
After being informed about his dog’s hopeless situation, the poor man burst into tears, but there was nothing much he could do as the hospital wouldn’t let him go since he was still badly injured.
So, to help Ddol out, the rescue team decided to use the owner’s belongings and recorded his voice to calm the pitiful dog down, captured him and took him to the vet.
That trick also worked when they coax him into eating a little, since the dog was too upset to be interested in food. It’s not hard to recognize how his owner’s scent and voice could affect his mood and spirit.
Thankfully, his owner got better not long afterward and they were able to meet again, at last. Needless to say, it was a deeply touching reunion that could bring anyone to tears.
Ddol’s incredible story had touched the hearts of so many people all over the country. With the help of the kind-hearted supporters, a brand new living space was created right on the same land and from that moment on, Ddol and his compassionate owner would have a great life to share with each other. Neither of them would be alone again.
