Protective Dog Mama Rushed Toward Rescuers In Panic As They Got Her Puppy

We have read plenty of touching stories about maternal love, yet they never cease to leave us in awe. This moving one is no exception. It’s proof that this kind of love isn’t any less impressive in the animal kingdom, it could shine even more brightly as a matter of fact.

Oreo the bicolor dog and her puppy Cookie Monster was living together near a freeway when the locals informed Hope For Paws’ founder Eldad Hagar about these pitiful dogs. Knowing that stray animals living in such dangerous places need urgent help, Eldad and his friend Lisa Chiarelli – the founder of Frankie, Lola & Friends Dog Rescue rushed to the mentioned location right away. It didn’t take long for them to spot the two dogs on opposite sides of the road.

For fear that the puppy could run through the opening in the fence and enter the freeway nearby, Eldad quickly grabbed his net and headed out to capture him without hesitation.

Thankfully, he had no trouble trapping the young boy, but his action accidentally scared the dog mama who had been watching from afar. She rapidly crossed the road to protect her son and was really stressed as they took him away.

Of course, handling a terrified, cautious adult dog was much harder after they failed to gain her trust. But thanks to the help of the kind men who had been feeding them, the rescuers finally managed to catch Oreo. To calm the dog’s nerves, they let her met Cookie Monster again so she could rest assured that her son was totally fine.

Luckily, both the mother and the son were perfectly healthy and adopted out real quick. Our rescue stories usually stop here, but we still have one more exciting piece of news to share with you guys! After the mother-son duo found their forever home, they accidentally met each other again at a park in Hollywood and their owners swiftly became new friends. They even created a shared Facebook page for Oreo (now lady) and Cookie Monster (now Reptar) so that their fans could keep up with them daily, isn’t it great?

“I couldn’t believe how intertwined our lives had become around these dogs, Hope for Paws rescue, and Bark n’ Bitches adoption center, yet we would never know it,” said Reptar’s owner. “It was even stranger that we met incidentally in public, and not through any programmed event with either organization.”

Please share this amazing story with your loved ones!
