Many baby wild animals can’t survive in the wild without their mother’s care. They are easily spotted by predators or have to struggle with hunger and thirst. Some are lucky as they are rescued in time by kind people while some can’t wait until rescuers come to help them. It’s a heartbreaking story that none of us wants to hear.

Djibril the abandoned baby chimp in this story is a lucky animal. Although he was rejected by his mother, he got love and care from keepers Malaga’s zoo, Spain.

Keepers at the zoo took care of the poor infant chimp until they found an adoptive mother for him.

They then transferred Djibril to the animal park BIOPARK Valencia where he met Eva. The adult monkey protected and raised him as her own although she hadn’t had any experience of a mother.

The baby chimp found cuddles and love in the arms of the monkey mother. Love and kindness can heal. It helps the abandoned infant overcome the rejection of its mother.

Thanks to the adult monkey, the infant chimp got a happy family. He now loves spending time with his mother and becomes inseparable from her and the family.

Regarding Kika, Djibril’s mother, she was rescued from a circus where she had been abused by cruel owners. She didn’t have any maternal skills, so she left her baby at birth.

Chimpanzee is currently listed as threatened with extinction in its natural environment by the WWF. The work of finding Djibrill the abandoned baby chimp an adoptive family obviously helps to preserve this species.
