Stray Mama Cat Brings Her Kittens To Woman Who Gave Her Food

A couple months ago, Shea A Prior spotted a stray cat hanging around in her backyard, so she decided to give the cat some food. This stray was shy at first, but then she came to enjoy the meal. Prior was excited because the sweet cat finally trusted her and accepted food from her.

While feeding the cat, Prior realized the cat was producing milk – which meant she was nursing her babies. “I was petting her and went to pick her up and that’s when I realized she had milk in and had been nursing some babies,” Prior told The Dodo.

Prior wanted to help the family, but she didn’t know where they were. She guessed that the mama hid her babies somewhere nearby. “I started telling her to show me to her babies, and that I bet her babies were so pretty,” Prior said.

Amazingly, the mama cat seemed to understand what Prior said, so the cat took Prior to meet her little ones the next day. The mama was so proud to show off her five tiny kittens to Prior. It was clear that the cat trusted Prior and knew she would help keep her family safe and warm.

“She came running up to me and rubbed on my leg while making her little croaking noise she does,” Prior said. “She led me over to my shed and I looked and saw a couple little fluffballs staring back at me. She flopped over on her side and started calling to them to come out and see me.”

The kittens were too scared to come out of hiding at first, but after some reassurance by their mom, they finally got brave enough to come out and meet Prior.

“One of the little gray ones was super brave and came up to me with his little pointy tail held up high in the air and let me pet him immediately,” Prior said. “Eventually, after about 10 to 15 minutes, they had all come up to me and let me hold them and pet them.”

As soon as Prior met the adorable family, she knew she had to help them and took them all in. “I will be adopting mama cat to live with me and my other two sweet girlies! All the babies have found homes and will be adopted as soon as mama is ok with it. But for now, everyone is doing great,” she said.
