Volunteers Spent Two Weeks Helping 40 Dogs In Need In A Rural Area

Getting dogs and cats spayed and neutered is always the top priority for any animal rescuer since that simple action could give our lovely furry friends a much better life and also reduces the horrific number of unwanted puppies or kittens being throw out daily. As one of the most reputable animal rescue organizations in Romania, Howl Of A Dog never forgets to concentrate on the bigger picture. Besides taking part in plenty of rescue works, the volunteers there also organize meaningful campaigns to help many dogs in need all over the country.

Recently, the rescue has spent 2 weeks helping local people in a small village understand what’s best for their dogs. The project included providing related information as well as free sterilization, vaccinations, microchipping, flea treatment, deworming medication for all the dogs and other types of medical care for sick dogs.

40 dogs had benefited from their kindness, and needless to say, they couldn’t be any prouder.

“It was wonderful to see all those locals bringing their dogs to receive medical care and get neutered or spayed,” the volunteers shared. “These are small steps, but the first steps are always the most difficult and most important when it comes to making a chance or correcting wrong mentalities.”

The team also got the chance to hear many wonderful stories about the dogs in that rural area, each of them was charming, endearing and unique in their own way. Some of them even melt their hearts in the most adorable way possible, for example Remy the stray dog who greeted them every morning and supervised their work each day.

In fact, the volunteers weren’t the only ones who were pleased about that outcome. The villagers were happy to get help, too. Even though they weren’t able to give their dogs expensive toys or fancy kennels, they still loved them with everything they had.

“Not all cases of abandonment or neglect come from mean hearts, but sometimes from misguided warm-hearted people or people who are in a difficult situation and do not have the possibility to provide proper medical care to their animal friends,” the volunteers said.
