Elderly Woman Hated Neighbor’s Pit Bull And Called Him A Bad Breed – Until He Saved Her Life

Simba is a 4-year-old pitbull who lives with his owner, Arjanit Mehana, in an apartment building in Sweden. The sweet dog loves everyone and loves making new friends. But unfortunately, many folks in the building don’t like Simba and some of them even hate him.

Despite the dog’s friendly personality, some of the neighbors see him as scary due to his breed. When he goes for walks with his owner, they would go out of their way to avoid him. However, in the end, the sweet pup proved all his detractors wrong in the sweetest way.

One neighbor in particular, an older woman who lives a floor below, especially hated Simba. She even called him a bad breed and every time he walked past her, she showed her contempt for him. However, that never bothered Simba, he never soured to her, always smiled and tried to show love to the woman.

“He always tried to greet her, but she called him mean and looked at him with fear,” Mehana told The Dodo. “She never liked him because he was a ‘bad’ breed.”

The other day, Mehana and Simba were on their way back from a walk when they passed by this woman’s door. It was at that moment Simba started behaving strangely. He stopped, sniffed the door, and began barking. Arjanit tried to pull him away with the leash but Simba refused to go.

When Arjanit moved to pick him up, he heard a faint sound coming from the door, “Help, please don’t go.” He grabbed the front door and felt that it was unlocked. He then opened the door and found the woman lying on the floor. She was in pain and unable to move because of her broken hip.

The woman’s life was in danger, so Mehana quickly called medical services. He and Simba stayed with the woman until the ambulance arrived. As they waited, the woman thanked Simba for saving her.

“She said, ‘Thank you for hearing me.’ I thought she was talking to me at first,” Mehana recalled. “But then she said, ‘No, not you — the nice doggie.’”

She’d been there two days, tried her best to scream for help, and was finally noticed. Simba had sensed her cries and alerted someone before it was too late. If Simba hadn’t spotted the plea, it might not have ended well for this lady. From that moment on she absolutely fell in love with Simba. Her life had been saved by the dog who, before, she mistreated in the past for no good reason.

The neighbor is still in recovery from her injuries, but that hasn’t stopped other neighbors from knowing that it was Simba who saved her. Not only did it change this woman’s perception of Simba, but the others in the building have begun recognizing his act of heroism and showering him with treats and gifts.

Arjanit hopes that Simba’s story will make others view pitbulls in a more positive light and think twice before judging a dog based on its breed.

“I know Simba is a wonderful dog,” Mehana said. “But I hope this event will make people see bully breeds differently. We, as human beings, must deserve their loyalty and love.”
