We are sure that you have heard about the special connection twins have in their relationships with each other. Their bond is unlike any other sibling connection. It’s so powerful and unique that it makes many siblings in the world green with envy. Even from an early age, these twins can know how to love, how to feel love and how to express it strongly.
In 1995, a pair of twin Kyrie and Brielle Jackson were born at the UMass Memorial Health Care in Worchester, Massachusetts. They were prematurely at 28 weeks, but thankfully they were both doing well and had a high chance of survival. The nurses had informed their father the good news, and he couldn’t hide his happiness. He was eager to meet his daughters, but he knew that he had to wait for them to be strong enough to go home.
However, when the little girls reached the three-week mark, everything went wrong. Brielle spiraled into respiratory distress characterized by low oxygen levels and a high heart rate. Her skin color was slowly turning blue and she was gasping for air. Things went downhill for her, and everyone was scared that she would not survive.
The two babies were kept in separate incubators to prevent possible spread of the infection if they lost Brielle. At that time, Gayle Kasparian, a nurse who worked at the Newborn Intensive Care Unit did something unexpected to help save Brielle’s life. She asked the twins’ parents to let her place Kyrie in Brielle’s incubator, and they agreed. She hoped that the bond and love between them would make something miraculous.
Speaking to CNN, Nurse Gayle said: “When I put Brielle in with her sister, it was amazing. She immediately calmed down. Her heart rate stabilized and her color changed, back to normal”.
The twins are now and living healthy lives. They are deeply close now and aware that the bond they share is not exceptional.
Nothing can’t explain the powerful love radiating between these twin baby sisters who were born prematurely. Their love is so powerful that a warm touch and hug from the sister is enough to give her twin a full chance of life. It’s a story we shouldn’t forget.
If you love this special bond, please share this touching post with your friends and family members to warm their day up!
