As a mother, nothing is precious than seeing our children grow up, leave home, and have their own families. Sometimes, you may feel lonely but your life will be soon spiced up again. You have adorable and playful grandchildren with whom you are pleasant to busy. These are little versions of your children. Seeing them and a lot of memories flood back. You couldn’t be happier and prouder of your new title – grandmother.
If God bless you, you may meet younger generations in your family – the children of your children’s children. You now are a great-grandmother. Your life never lacks the smiles and laughs of your grandchildren. These young faces bring more colors to your life. It might be noisy sometimes but old people all enjoy that noise, right?
The 86-year-old Mary Marshall, from Edinburgh, Scotland, is a really lucky woman. She has just become one of the UK’s only great-great-great grandmothers.
The grandmother lived through the Second World War and has eight daughters and an incredible 90 grandchildren. Her oldest child, Rose Thorburn, 68, gave birth to four children including mom-of-three Chyrel Borthwick, 50.
One of Chyrel’s children, Carrie Dow, 35 has four children of her own. Her daughter, Toni-Leigh Aitken, 17 has just given birth to a healthy baby girl in May this year.\
The birth of Nyla Ferguson (name of the baby) makes their family a really big one with six generations alive at the same time.
It means that Mary Marshall, the oldest woman of the crowded family becomes a great-great-great grandma.
Her children and grandchildren live no longer than a 10-15 minute drive away from one another. They love gathering. Every time they see one another, there will be a lot of fun and laughs.
Living in a big family means that there’s always someone there for you. You have brothers and sisters, and uncles and aunts around. This is awesome, right?
