Being a rescuer, you will meet tons of animals in need, but each of them is always unique. They have their own story, their own characteristics as well as their own thoughts and feelings. Some are bold and fearless, some are scared and doubtful, some are angry and stressed. Of course, there are also friendly and tender ones who just couldn’t wait to be with you like the little stray cat in this story.
Flatbush Cats’ founder Will Zweigart came across this incredibly affectionate girl in his neighborhood. After making sure she wasn’t a house cat roaming around in search of extra meals, Will kindly took her in.
He named the cat Chatty Charlie after the famous Barkin’ Beagle because she was just as amicable and talkative as the plush dog.
It didn’t take Will so long to recognize Charlie had some dental issue that made the poor cat drool excessively. A quick visit to the vet revealed that some of her teeth were fractured and she couldn’t close her mouth due to the swelling.
Despite the pain, she was still the most loving cat ever.
Charlie couldn’t be any happier to be indoors, she was an impressively sweet and somehow clingy kitty who just couldn’t leave her rescuer even for one second. Maybe it was separation anxiety, maybe it was just her personality. Whatever the reason was, she never wanted to be alone.
To soothe Charlie’s nerves, Will introduced her to some of the most easygoing cats around which were all rescued just like her. And their bond bloomed beautifully right at their first meeting.
When all of Charlie’s problems were fixed, she was ready for a forever home. It might be a bit sad to say goodbye to such an endearing feline, but Will knew he must do it no matter what. That cute gal deserved a family of her own, where she could be the center of attention all the time.
