Miranda Lambert And Her Husband Rescue Tiny Stray Kitten From Highway In Texas

Miranda Lambert is an American country music singer, songwriter, and animal lover. She now owns eight dogs, some cats, bunnies, chickens, and horses.

Not only does she love singing and making music, but she also loves saving animals. However, she is not alone in her pursuit of rescuing and helping animals in need. Her love of saving animals had rubbed off on her husband, Brendan McLoughlin.

During a recent trip in Texas, Miranda and her husband Brendan encountered a stray kitten in need of help. Miranda shared the rescue story on her Instagram page and it quickly went viral.

“Two lane highway in Texas, speed limit 70. Brendan slows down and does a U-turn… Me to B: “why are you turning around?” B to me: “there’s a kitten in the road and I knew you would kill me if I saw it and didn’t stop,” she wrote on Instagram.

She proudly wrote, “Well I guess the rescue ways are rubbing off on him.”

The couple saved the kitten from highway and named him Tequila. Instead of dropping Tequila off at a local shelter, they decided to bring him home with them.

Although the couple was able to keep him, they revealed that they found him a forever home with Miranda’s parents in Texas. The kitten fell in love with her parents and decided to stay with them.

“We stopped at mom and dads on the way home. Dad has a new bestie. This kitten rode 9 hours back to Nashville with us and 3 dogs and was such a champ.”

“He is 4-5 weeks old and weighs 14 Ounces,” she added. “Y’all welcome Tequila the kitten to the family!”

Lambert shared a photo of Tequila on her husband’s shoulder as he was driving as well as photo of the kitten sleeping on her dad’s chest as they stopped her parents’ home.

Miranda found inspiration for her new music project on the road and she and her husband are inspiring others with their kind hearts. Fans from around the world admire the couple and praised them for saving the kitten and for finding him a forever loving home.

Sunday thoughts. When people ask me questions about all the traveling I’ve done , my answer is pretty much the same every time. “ I’ve been everywhere but I haven’t seen much of anything. “ I’ve been touring for 19 years and most times we just roll in , play our show , and roll to the next town. I’ve only gotten to spend some real time in a few of the places I’ve been. After spending these last few months at home ( a much needed break and time to nest❤️) I realized something. Just because I can’t travel and play shows doesn’t mean I can’t travel and make music. I have the most amazing travel companion, my husband , and we decided to add a family member. Y’all Meet “The Sheriff . “ A 2020 Airstream Globetrotter. ( thanks @rocketcityrv ) I’ve been a vintage trailer collector for years and this is my very first new one. I’m letting go of a few vintage to make room for adventure in this silver gem! I don’t like change but I’m learning to embrace it. Until I get get back on Elvira and tour, I’ll be pulling this rig all over the country. I know that seeing the world through the windshield again will bring creative vibes. #highwayvagabonds #livinlikehippies #BandMetour

One of her fans commented: “Just another reason I am your biggest fan! Rescue people rock!” Another said, “Awww, how lucky can one kitty be!!!! You have a couple of good men in your life, Miranda!!”

Apparently, her parents are animal lovers too. In 2009, Lambert and her mom founded the MuttNation Foundation, an organization that aims to rescue animals, help shelter pets find loving homes, and assist shelters during emergencies and disasters.

In 2014, Lambert opened Redemption Ranch, a shelter in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, her adopted home town where she lived with her ex-husband Blake Shelton. Thanks to her organization and shelter, many rescue animals have found their forever home.

Rescue pets are the best so please adopt don’t shop! Do you love this post? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below! Don’t forget to share this with your friends and family members to raise awareness about pet adoption and rescue.
