Stray Mama Cat Is So Happy To Be Reunited With Her Kittens At The Shelter

When Mindy Brocato, an employee at the Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control, rescued a stray cat named Toodles from being attacked by a dog, he rushed her to the shelter and gave her a second chance at life.

As Toodles arrived at the shelter in early April, staff quickly noticed that she was a new mom. “She had all the signs of being a nursing mother, but her kittens could not be found,” Chris Weinstein, a volunteer of the shelter told The Dodo.

The shelter staff quickly alerted residents living in the area to be on the lookout for kittens because they wouldn’t survive without their mother’s protection.

Fortunately, neighbors discovered five kittens under a mobile home later that week and contacted the shelter to call for help. The shelter employees rushed to reunite the five kittens with their mama cat.

Once the kittens arrived at the shelter, they were brought to meet their mom. As soon as Toodles heard the tiny meows, she perked up and started to look around. A shelter employee carefully placed the first baby in her cage, and after a few sniffs, Toodles meowed with joy and started purring, comforting, and licking her kitten.

Five little miracles! A stray cat the shelter named Toodles was removed from a very risky situation and brought to Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control on Monday. She had all the signs of being a nursing mother, but her kittens could not be found. Neighbors were alerted to be on the lookout, and early this morning her kittens were heard mewing in the insulation of a mobile home. An Animal Care & Control staff person, Mindy Brocato, rushed them to the shelter for this heartwarming reunion with their mom. Amazingly, all the kittens — perhaps two to three weeks old — appear to be healthy and are eagerly nursing. ????????????????????Evening Update: Check out the newest chapter in this story! https://www.facebook.com/678539978905224/posts/2841037819322085/?d=n

However, the adorable family reunion still wasn’t quite complete. A few days later, a sixth kitten was found crying for her mom under the same mobile home where the five kittens were discovered.

The staff quickly reunited the last baby with the rest of the family. Toodles is so happy to be reunited with her kittens in a comfortable home.

“Toodles seemed much more relaxed that this new baby arrived. She and her babies are thriving, thanks in no small part to her attentive and experienced foster (family),” the shelter said.

Soon, the kittens will go home with their adopters. Once Toodles was safe, she will look for her forever home.

However, the very first one to find a family was Toodles herself. “How great is that to have the mom selected first for once,” they wrote.

“Toodles and Percy were the first to find a home together. That warms all our hearts, as the moms so often are the last to be adopted.”

If you love this heart-warming reunion, please share it with your friends and family members to warm up their day!
