Dad Builds His Beloved Dog An Adorable Little Cabin In The Backyard

If you are a pet owner, you will certainly agree that pets are wonderful companions, and you are willing to do everything you can to help them have a happy life. That is why one of the owners took the time to do something extra special for his dog, Maya. He built her a wonderful cabin with all the trimmings in the backyard.

Maya’s father is David Connolly, owner of Fencing Decking Specialists NI in the UK. Maya loves to stay by her dad’s side all the time, so whenever possible, her dad Connolly often stays with her in the main house or takes her to job sites along with him. But other times, Maya has to stay back at the house, so Connolly decided to do something to make sure his dog was never left in the dark.

Connolly realized that Maya loved to play in their backyard on those occasions when she’s left alone, so he built a cozy cabin that she could stay in when he wasn’t at home.

The cabin may look slightly rustic but it is full of modern amenities. “It has an insulated floor, porch, night light and a small heater as well, for the winter time,” Connolly told The Dodo. He also raised it off the ground and to a particular height so she can socialize with neighbors. It’s at a height “so as when she is lying inside her bedroom or on her balcony deck she can see over the top of the fence at passersby” he said.

However, the cabin isn’t used by Maya all that much because she and her dad are always together – hiking, playing or simply lounging together on the couch. Maya never stays outside overnight and she always stays in the main house after dark and when Connolly is home. The cabin is really just a simple gift that David gives her.

“Maya is my best friend,” he said. “She is a loyal companion and I am trying my best to make her life as enjoyable and comfortable for her as I possibly can. Building her a comfortable little home is the least I could do.”

“I believe dogs have a short time on this earth and we all must strive to take as much care and give them as much love as we can,” Connolly said.

Maya really loves sitting inside the cabin, especially on rainy days. Connolly shared, “Maya loves her duvet days especially if it’s raining like it is today!”

Maya is clearly one lucky pup. Not only does she have a loving forever home with her dad, she also has little home – built with love, just for her.
