A convenience store located at the foot of the Rockies in Fort Collins, Colorado got some special customers that nobody expected.
Lori Jones, an employee of the store, was working her usual shift, when a mama deer casually walked into the shop. Jones tried to shoo the doe away, but the deer was too busy checking out the store’s goods as if she wanted to pick out some gifts for her family.
“It was hilarious. She was looking at the sunglasses and the chips. I was laughing so hard,” Lori said.
After that, the deer was lured out of the store by Lori using peanut butter bar. Although the store policy prohibits anyone from feeding the deer because they’re going to keep coming back, Jones made an exception.
“I got a peanut bar and backed her out and took her down to the lower field,” Jones told The Dodo. “You can’t let them run all over your store.”
“Our rule at the campground and on the store property is ‘Don’t feed the deer at all,’” Jones said. “We see them, we enjoy them, but we don’t need them to come in the store.”
But that wasn’t to be the end of it. About 30 minutes later, the deer came back with her whole family. Jones said that she was surprised when the deer brought her whole family back later for a visit.
The children were raised well, so they just stood outside and waited patiently. “They were just looking in the doorway like, ‘Can we come in too?’ I said, No! It was so funny.”
Before Lori lured the curious family away from her store, she captured some incredible pics with her phone and shared them on social media. She is happy to know that her pictures have been able to make people smile.
