Woman Hears Kitten’s Desperate Cries From Street And Helps Him Find A Forever Home

Nancy Hutchinson, founder and president of Michigan Cat Rescue, could hear animals’ cries for help that no one else could. The reason may be that she has rescued many poor animals and is heard a lot of them. So, when a tiny kitten was in distress, she was the only one who heard the tiny distress call.

“I was at my friend’s house on her porch,” she tells iHeartCats. “I kept hearing a faint cry. I told her, ‘I think I hear a cat.’ She didn’t hear it.”

Hutchinson couldn’t find the animal that day. But a few days later, her friend discovered a black kitten scampering across the street. Thankfully, a kind neighbor tried to take the kitten home, cleaned him and gave him food. The cat was happy when he found himself in a warm bath, with offerings of food.

“He loves tummy rubs and loves having his photo taken,” Hutchinson says.

After that, he was taken to Cat’s Veterinary in Clinton Township, where the vet Christy Regan learned that the 4-week-old kitten was healthy even if desperately thin. She also gave him a name Oatmeal Stout because his coat fits the dark beer Oatmeal Stout.

The nonprofit group Michigan Cat Rescue asked for donations from animal lovers and organizations to save countless animals like Oatmeal Stout, made sure the kitty got the care he needed, as well as a foster family.

Thankfully, a woman named Debbie sent in an adoption application and it’s been approved. She went to Cats Vet to meet him for the first time, and she fell in love with him.

Oatmeal Stout is now enjoying his happy life with his new owner Debbie. Finally, the kitten lives in a loving house that he deserves.
