Meet Lana, an 8-month-old puppy, is living a happy life as a cherished pet with her humans Suelen Schaumloeffel and her fiancé in Brazil. However, her life wasn’t always so good. Before having a home, Lana was roaming the streets as a stray. Thankfully, her owner rescued her and gave her a forever home.
Although Lana is now having all the love and affection a pup could hope for, she clearly still remembers how tough street life was. So, when she saw a stray dog on a cold evening, she dragged her blanket over to their fence and shared it with him.
When Suelen and her fiancé stepped out to head to work, they saw the touching scene. Suelen was incredibly moved by her generosity, so she quickly posted the tender moment on Facebook.
She explained that the weather has been rather chilly in the area, so she and her partner had bought a thicker blanket to ensure Lana stayed warm and cozy in her doghouse.
“Last night, before bed, we tucked the cover of the Lana in the little house so she could curl up and sleep. Today was the scene from the photo,” Suelen wrote.
“Seeing the friend without a home and cold, Lana did not hesitate to share her blanket. She pulled it over to the fence and offered it to her friend. Each on one side of the fence, but both warm.”
Suelen shared that she and her partner are now trying to help Lana’s stray friend. They’re hoping that, if he’s lost, they can help him find his way back home. However, he runs away whenever they try to get close to check for an ID tag, so they are leaving out food and water for him.
“I thought, ‘How beautiful what she did for her friend,'” Schaumloeffel tells The Dodo. “My best four-legged friend reminded me of something so important: generosity! She is the nicest little dog I’ve ever met!”
After everything Lana had through, she knows better than most just how important it is to be kind.
